The Native
Americans valued their storytellers, these were men and women shown great honor by their
tribesmen. The storytellers passed on the heritage of their ancestors through their
stories, thus ensuring their history lived on...
The Storyteller's
Bracelet...
Once when Jeanne Joy was with Mom in
Santa Fe, they stopped by an Native American jewellery store. Jeanne found a beautiful
bracelet that she couldnt do without! Upon Jeannes decision to add it to her
collection the lady that was helping her explained that every Indian Storyteller has a
story to tell
Jeannes next judging assignment
was in Alaska. Mom and Jeanne decided that it would be a lovely trip to take together. |

That night the home of
the friends they were staying with caught on fire when everyone was asleep or almost
asleep. The fire started because of faulty wiring. They almost lost their lives trying to
escape from the second level. The angels were obviously with them because at first they
couldnt find their way out! After some time they managed to locate a window, only to
find it was jammed
it was all they could do to open that window. The heat had made it
almost impossible to open. I know the angels helped them that night because they are still
with us. Once they managed to open it, they were able to jump into sticker bushes with
just their nightgowns on their back. The house burnt to the ground.
The
next day at sun-up, nothing but a pile of ashes
and by the pile lay the Indian
Storyteller bracelet!
